We’re thrilled to announce a new post-summer update to Crowdpurr that has been months in the making! ✨ This release represents a huge step forward in modernizing Crowdpurr’s foundation while also delivering some exciting new features that will make your live trivia, bingo, polls, and social walls even smoother to run.
While you’ll notice plenty of new polish and improvements, the real story here is that only about 10% of this update is new user-facing features—the other 90% is a massive under-the-hood overhaul. We’ve upgraded Crowdpurr’s core framework, database, and infrastructure to future-proof the platform so you can continue to rely on it for years to come.
Redesigned Experience Dashboard 🕹️
Running an experience should feel effortless—and now it does. The new Experience Dashboard layout has been completely reorganized for clarity and efficiency.
- Wider view, no scrolling up an down: Major control areas have been expanded into a wider layout, so you can manage questions, scores, and playback without endless scrolling.
- Streamlined navigation: The Presentation View and Participant View are now simply labeled Present and Join in the navigation bar. Your Experience Code, Crowd URL, and Quick Stats are displayed more prominently for quick access.
- Visual context: Your Experience Logo now sits proudly next to the title on the dashboard.
- Mobile-first design: Hosting from your phone just got easier. Larger buttons and cleaner layouts mean you can “remote control” your events more comfortably than ever.
- Refined controls: The Next Round button has been moved into the Playback area, and the Start button now includes a subtle animation to guide new users.
Refreshed Default Theme 🎨
We’ve refreshed the fonts and introduced a new default background for new experiences in our new default Crowdpurr theme. The result is a more modern, polished feel that elevates the overall vibe of your events right out of the box.
"Sync to Tabs" Question Navigation 📋
One of the most requested changes is finally here. Introducing the Sync to Tabs switch under the Active Question on the Experience Dashboard!
When Sync to Tabs is enabled, clicking on the various Question Tabs of your trivia game or poll will update the Active Question how it always has. But disabling Sync to Tabs now allows you to look at other Question Tabs without affecting the Active Question! When Sync to Tabs is disabled, the Active Question only changes when you use the arrow buttons, keyboard shortcuts, or the direct input. This is super-handy for many reasons including:
- Reading ahead to the next question before activating it
- Making on-the-fly changes on future questions in the experience
- Marking corrections to past questions that have already run in the experience
By default, Sync to Tabs is enabled for all experiences. But you're free to disable at any time. For example, if you're in the middle of an experience, you can disable Sync to Tabs, make any needed changes, and then re-enable it.

Player Rankings for Everyone 🏆
By popular demand, the Rankings tab now includes all players, not just the Top 100. With new pagination controls, you can scroll through the full leaderboard, review every participant, and even manage individual team members.

- Framework modernization: Thousands of lines of code rewritten to support the latest version of Crowdpurr's JavaScript framework.

- Database migration: The production database upgraded from MongoDB 6.x to 8.x—fully tested and optimized.
- Roles system re-engineered: The user roles architecture was completely rebuilt for better scalability and security.
- Security & stability: All major open-source packages were updated to their latest versions, with bug fixes and vulnerability patches included.
